The tour is sponsored by American Standard Brands with support from the Nature Conservancy and WaterSense, a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency program similar to Energy Star for appliances. The WaterSense seal assures consumers that product will reduce water use by 20 percent or more. American Standard’s goal is to reduce water use by 2 billion gallons through adoption of water-saving bathroom fixtures. According to the company, an average four-person household can save 48,326 gallons of water a year by updating their fixtures.
