Statesville Manager Helps to Raise Funds for Cancer Initiatives
In August 2011, Statesville manager Russell Rauch rode the 24 Hours of Booty, a fundraising event for national and local cancer initiatives. 24 Hours of Booty is The Official 24 Hour Cycling Event of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The event raised over $1.25M in total this year, and proceeds benefit the Blumenthal Center for Cancer Research at Carolina Medical Center.
Russell’s team, The Cotswold Cougar Cycling Club, was able to best its 2011 fundraising goal by nearly $10,000! They collected $36,446 for cancer research, education and survivorship. The team was proud to have HD Supply Plumbing/HVAC as one of the sponsors that appeared on their jerseys.
Statesville’s thoughts and efforts go out to customers, friends, vendors, families and teammates that have been touched by cancer.
